To All the Big Sisters...Holla!

Good Evening! I have been dying to discuss this week's news. I have been called: Margaret, Maggie, Miss Rundell, Maggers, Mags, daughter, niece, cousin and granddaughter but I have never been called SISTER! Until now that is. It is true. I am going to be a sister. A big one. Apparently, there is a small person in my mom's belly. I know, I know, but trust me. My mom does not lie. I like to think of the baby like I think of God. I don't see it but I believe it. From what I understand, my sibling is floating around in there and having a party. It can't come out until we get it a bed. We haven't decided if I should have a brother or sister yet but I am pretty sure I can strong arm either one. If the baby does what I say, we will get along just fine. Of course, I have seen other babies and they don't understand everything is mine. I know my brother or sister will understand. We are going to build forts and make sculptures and play dress up. I have already planned our first few days. I am currently working on a comprehensive schedule. However, I must digress. I have some sad news this week. I was taken to the ER Sunday night after spending a glorious day in New Jersey playing with my cousins. I was getting out of the tub and I escaped! I started running. I was still wet and I slipped. I fell backwards and I started to cry but then I stopped. After that, my parents say my eyes rolled back and I went limp for a few seconds. We had to go to the hospital right away. I had fun there. I ran all over the waiting room and I even let other people play with my stuffed monkey. Eventually, they let me fall asleep and I am as good as new. I do apologize to my parents for scaring them. I was just having too much fun. Well, I must go practice my gymnastics moves for tomorrow. Until next week... -Maggie
This week: I made my first attempt at eating yogurt with a spoon, I wore a hat, I wore sunglasses, I got my ashes on Ash Wednesday and I played with my cousin Keira.

Learning is Fun!

Good day ladies and gents! I want to start off today by discussing academia. I have realized in my short life that I am addicted to learning. I am incredibly verbose, as indicated by this blog. However, my vocabulary has increased tremendously. A comprehensive list of my words are as follows: mama, dada, hi, bye, cracker, ball, book, bubble, thank you, Elmo, Obama, eat, eyes, no, banana and apple. I am working on more and know soon I will have this English language wrapped around my little finger. In addition to words, I make animal noises. I can "Woof!" like a dog. I can "Roooooar!" like a tiger. I am working on quacking like a duck but I cannot get into character. In addition to mastering the English language, I studied static electricity. I love science and I love learning. In the spirit of learning, my parents took me to the Brooklyn Children's Museum this week. I had so much fun. I looked for seashells and then I designed my own! I learned about noise and water and best of all I got to run around and play with my mom and dad. We are having so much fun here in Brooklyn. I would love you all to visit. Well, the learning must continue. I have books to read, words to learn and theories to prove. Until next week... -Maggie
This week: I went to the Brooklyn Children's museum and designed a seashell, made a friend who helped me look for seashells, watched a puppet show and played with water.

Smells Like Roses

Love is in the air! Good afternoon everyone. This past Saturday was Valentine's Day. My dad bought me a rose. It was so soft and pretty. Also, it smelled like outside but not regular outside. Have you ever been to an arboretum? It smelled like that but sweeter. I loved my rose. So I decided to inspect my rose. I noticed it had layers called petals and I dug deeper. I found the center. It had yellow sticks called pollen. Unfortunately, you cannot put a rose back together. I am not sure I would have explored the greatness of nature if I knew I could not keep it. Oh well, I will chalk it up to a fantastic learning experience. On another note, my friends Michael and Leah came by. I was not my usual cheery self but I am not to blame. I was forced into the cold with no gloves, milk or crackers. I blame my parents and this won't be the last time they mess up. Luckily, I am a forgiving and mature lady so I will try to take the high road. We did eat Chinese food and we discussed the wonders of the world and I peed on the floor. Just a typical President's Day if you ask me. Not too much else happened this week. Fun and merriment was had but nothing to write home about. I hope everything is going well in each of your lives. In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I would like to say I love you all. I have grown weary and I must rest my eyes. Until next week... -Maggie
This week: I took a train ride around the house with my bear and I played with my friends Michael and Leah.

A Day at the Park

Greetings and salutations my friends! I had a lovely week as I am sure you all did. My parents brought me to the park on Sunday and we spent hours in the sun, playing games, chasing dogs and running around. As I am sure you will see, today's entry is heavy with pictures. I just had to show you exactly how much fun we had. We started the day walking to Prospect Park. Prospect Park is a large park that is close to our home. It has the Botanic Garden, a zoo and a lake. It also has a wonderful playground. When we got to the park we had a picnic and engaged in some friendly conversation. After, we went straight to the playground and we found a dog. It was not the best looking dog I had ever seen but he was sweet and he loved me. He had clothes on! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Well, when I finished playing with my friend the dog, we tried the slide. I loved the slide. We walked over the playground bridges. I loved that too! And then we went over to the swings. I still do NOT like the swings. Well, we finished up at the playground and then we walked through the park and back home. I was in desperate need of a nap although I was a shinning star all day; even if I have to say so myself. When I woke, we played more, had dinner and then the weekend was over. I know we have fun things planned this week but I did love this past weekend. Oh, I have spotted Mona. She is my Cabbage Patch doll. I must tell her off. She is in big trouble for hitting my bear. Until next week... -Maggie
This week: I played in the park, made a new friend: the dog and I tried on a couple new ideas for outfits.

Snow Day!

A happy Tuesday to everyone! It is snowing here today. It is so beautiful and clean and soft and fluffy. It is also cold. So we are staying in today. I started off today playing with my dad. We climbed up the stairs and then down the stairs. We read books and played peek-a-boo. Finally, we ate breakfast and watched Sesame Street. That Elmo is so funny. After my dad went to work it was time to play with my mom. We mostly danced and sang songs together. She knows SO MANY songs. Later this afternoon, I am looking forward to playing games with my mom. She can never find me when I hide. And I am the best pot and pan drummer in the house. I do love playing inside but I cannot wait until the snow thaws and we can go to the park again. I overheard Al Roker discussing the weather forecast this weekend and it appears that it will be in the mid to upper 40s. That is park weather undoubtedly. This past weekend, my parents took me to the roof and we played in my tunnels. There was some snow and ice up there and I even learned how to walk on the ice without falling. It took a lot of practice but I mastered it! My dad also took me running and then we went to the farmer's market. All in all, we had a great time. On a different note, I gave up my morning nap. I had to put my foot down. My mom was not listening to me so I had to make her listen to me. I am now napping at noon and I must say, I couldn't be happier. However, during this transition period, I must admit I underestimated my tiredness. There were times I passed out but I was not ashamed. I just picked myself up, grabbed my toy shopping cart and off I went. Well, someone has to shovel the snow. Until next week... -Maggie This week: I played with my toy shopping cart, I ate spaghetti, I accidentally fell asleep and I helped my dad prepare for the Superbowl.

Back to Dallas

Good afternoon! As you can see, I have been on yet another plane ride. We flew back to Dallas last week. My mom and dad had to go to a wedding for their very good friends Neal and Annie. I like them too however, I was in Dallas to entertain my grandparents and friends. While in Dallas, I had my first, and may I add the best, babysitter ever. I love her. Erica, that is my babysitter's name, let me eat yogurt all by myself with a spoon and we played with bubbles and we took pictures and I even stayed up past my bedtime. I am not sure what happened at that wedding but I know I had more fun than anyone. Leaving Dallas was difficult although I must admit, my mom does not always clue me into when exactly our trips will end. I was not ready to say good-bye but I was ready to see my dad again. He had to go back to work in NYC but I persuaded my mom to stay in Dallas for the rest of the week. Don't tell my mom but my grandparents spoil me. Well, my dad met us at the airport and he gave me the biggest hug he has ever given me. I gave him one right back. So now we are home in Brooklyn. It is definitely colder but it feels like home. Ooh, smells like lunch. Baked Ziti and a nice cold glass of milk. Until next week... - Maggie
Over the past few weeks I: saw all my friends, had a laugh with my friend Neal, ate cupcakes with my cousins, had a party and after it was all over I took a nap with my dad

Happy New Year

Hello everyone. It has been a while and a lot has happened during my absence. It has been snowing here a little bit. I love to play in the snow but it takes absurdly long to get dressed for the snow. I was not quite sure why my mom made me bundle up layer after layer until I took my mittens off...and fell in the snow. It was cold. I was cold. It was sad. My dad quickly warmed my hands and I hope I remember this lesson for years to come. Forgive me if I soon forget. Well, with the snow comes Christmas. This year we went to Dallas and spent the joyous season with our family. I had so much fun with my grandparents, uncles, aunts and my cousin Scarlett. I must admit, I was nervous. I had told Santa previously of our move and forgot to inform him of our vacation. After mass on Christmas Eve, I went to sleep and when I woke...SANTA CAME! He did and he filled my stocking and left me presents. I felt just like a newborn again. After all the festivities of Christmas, we came back to Brooklyn. Unfortunately, I threw up for the first time. Guess what? Not all "FIRSTS" are happy. Equally upsetting was the fact that my parents fell victim to the same fate. We are all better now. I was even able to cheer my Longhorn football team to victory last night. Of course, by cheer I mean sleep with my stuffed BEVO. I must be going because although I do not want to, I must take the Christmas tree down. It is the epiphany today. The wise men have found our sweet baby Jesus and so the time has come to say good-bye to Christmas. Until next week... - Maggie
During my vacation: Santa came, I played with my toys, I played with my cousin Scarlett and I wrote Thank You notes (my mom is in charge of sending them).
